The Annual Gidge Show is a much-loved country fair hosted by the Gidgegannup Agricultural Society on the last Saturday of October 🌾. Often described as the “country show on the city doorstep,” it brings together the local hills community and visitors from across the Perth metropolitan area to celebrate the region’s rich agricultural and pastoral heritage 🐄. Key Highlights Exhibits & Competitions 🏆 The show features a diverse range of competitive sections, including livestock such as cattle, sheep, and goats 🐑, along with equestrian events 🐎, poultry displays 🐓, and home produce categories like preserves, crafts, and floral arrangements 🌸. Family Entertainment 🎡 There’s something for everyone, from the lively Sideshow Alley with carnival rides 🎠 to live music 🎶, Halloween-themed attractions 🎃, and a wide selection of food vendors and market stalls 🍔. 80th Anniversary Celebration (2026) 🎉 The upcoming show on Saturday, 31 October 2026 marks a major milestone—the event’s 80th anniversary 🥳. To celebrate, an expanded program is planned, featuring additional entertainment and extended hours, with festivities continuing into the evening 🌙. Scenic Setting 🌿 Held at the Gidgegannup Showgrounds, the event takes place on a picturesque 55-hectare bushland site that serves as a vibrant hub for the local community 🌳.
